Nicely done in 1:18 scale by Shelby Collectibles this is the Ford GT40 Dirty version after driven at LeMans. This model has opening doors, trunk and hood, detailed engine, moveable and styeerabale front wheels and detailed interior and chassis. Shelby Collectibles produces many of the classic Shelby and Ford cars of the past. This series brings us highly detailed, very affordable die cast miniatures and some great subject matter too.
The 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans was a legendary race with a controversial ending. The #2 GT40 driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon was declared the winner by technicality over the #1 GT40 driven by Ken Miles and Denny Hulme, who led the majority of the race. The 24-hour race was a long battle, but all three Ford GT40s survived the the #2 car declared the victor. Recall that historic day with this diecast, which includes all the grit " earned" on its voluptuous body from a race well won.
