2008; the date means it was 2 years since Valentino Rossi was the MotoGP World Champion. 2008 meant both he and Yamaha had had enough of second best. Year two of the 800cc class turned the tables on all that had gone before as Valentino Rossi re-exerted his speed and personality on the Championship to eventually dominate 2007 World Champion Casey Stoner; throw in the added spice of four very fast rookies who share five World Championships between them and MotoGP 2008 took motorcycle racing to a new level.
