Nicely done in 1:43 scale by autoCult this i the 1929 Magirus-Babach KS 25 Stuttgart Fire Truck. Limited edition of 333 pieces. The fire brigade emergency vehicle, which was listed in Magirus’ own typology under the name “Stuttgart”, marked the most modern state of fire brigade technology at the end of the 1920s. Strictly speaking, this model included a high-performance pump developed by Magirus whose circulation cooling system enabled an almost unlimited service life. The truck was powered by a 100 hp-strong 6-cylinder engine of Maybach, which was called “OS 5”. It is known that a total number of five identical trucks were delivered to the professional fire brigade in Stuttgart. One went to Friedrichshafen and the fire brigade in Frankfurt am Main also ordered a vehicle. Others were in the fire brigade depot in Stolp/ Pomerania and at the voluntary fire brigade in Kornwestheim. The plant “C.D. Magirus AG” in Ulm with its almost 2,000 employees was at that time the leading manufacture of all equipment related to the topic of fire brigades. The difficulty that the Magirus plant had to face at that time was the challenge of mastering the component of the then technically current truck construction and the rear-heavy attachment of the pump with a 430 liter water tank This was solved on the one hand by the installation of a very powerful engine at the front, a low-lying center of gravity through the low frame and a relatively large wheelbase of 4.5 meters. In addition, they focused during the design to keep the width as small as possible so that narrow streets could also be passed. In total, the body offered space for 14 firefighters – including the driver and co-driver.
